tequila and lime,

Spent the other evening at Reposado in Palo Alto. The magaritas make it all good.
Delicious. I like mine with tequila and lime - no sweet and sour mix - I am a purist when it comes to lime juice. gimme the real stuff from a live fruit. Is citrus a fruit ? I have no idea.
The food is good. The space feels open. We got free dessert because I was taking pictures. Funny. and a last shot of tequila bottles.

BBQ view

Gorgeous weather and its wine & BBQ time

Friday night BBQ, American style. Interesting how each culture has a different way to cook meat outdoors. Up in the hills overlooking Menlo Park we had a fabulous view, delicious wine and bruchetta. Lots of sides Party Potatoes ? I didnt even know that potatoes went to parties.
Southern Ribs and chicken and a view of the goats as I drove down the hill on home.

champagne in the garden

Today my friend Corinna invited me over to celebrate with a glass of bubbly in the garden,
What a delightful way to end the day! She has a glorious garden. Full of wonderful spots to rest your eyes & soak up beauty. The champagne and nibbles were delicious. We toasted the simple joys of life & the power of friendship.
The olives glistened in the bowl Corinna made - I love her ceramics!
the Grand cru champagne - nectar of the gods,
the feeling of hanging out with friends.
The toast crisp and spread with fresh garlic butter.
the heads nestling in leaves, the head in the bird bath
Delicious and delightful.

Life is short and fraught but as long as we can see taste and smell moments of beauty we will survive!

Time for lunch

On a cloudy cool day - I am in the mood to indulge the savory taste buds.
Bowls of olives entice at a store in the Biscuit Factory, Salt River Capetown

And a delectable wrap, fresh and tasty, awaits us under the orange tent.

I think a nice glass of ale or a light sparkling wine or glass of Appletiser would be perfect.

I am trying to figure out the free delivery ANYWHERE note - do they mean anywhere ???
Count the meal moments!

Luscious Lobster

Tonight dear hubby poured us Apple Martinis, at cocktail hour - served in the backyard. Delicious!

Last night we were somewhere downtown Palo Alto - a new Mexican place - Great decor. and big picture windows. Suddenly we have a different perspective of our little downtown.
the place takes on character...
Tried a lobster appetizer- on corn tortilla.not bad.
and a delicious shrimp and scallop dish, with sauce made from shells & chiles slightly burnt and buttery. I forgot the camera.
Reminded me of our friend Corinne's thanksgiving dinner- lobster in a tasty sauce.
picture above.
Now that's the way to celebrate Thanksgiving, forget the turkey. I could have lobster every week. I love the sweet taste.

Salut!

Love to break the morning fast with a home made treats
(especially if they are made by someone else)
we have our handy Nespresso machine to double the pleasure
I always get a kick out of seeing people, coming out the door at stewbucks (coffee- no -good) with a pile of paper cups and a bag of unhomemade delights, heading for the car.
The ultimate American dream. Driving to pick up coffee.

Dinner is on the table

Lovely husband is such a great cook. Every night I wait for him to come home from work and cook a fabulous tasty dish. He did this a couple weeks ago. It was out of this world.
I will do dishes - I dont mind if my skin dries. I will do dishes.

Today I visited Les Artisanes - a group of french women in my area who make and sell stuff twice a year. I bought the most amazing baked goods. I am going to savour every morsel.
I will take pictures and write about it soon.
